Well I thought it might be a good idea to give you ladies and gents a bit more info about fat freezing ( our version at UV is actually called Cryosculpting or Cryolipolosis) but fat freezing is easier to say!
The clue is in the word ‘sculpt’ because that is what it does. In simple terms it sculpts bits of your body into a better shape. It’s not for weight loss but for inch loss.
The type of people that benefit from fat freezing are not necessarily over weight but have stubborn deposits of fat that just won’t shift. The areas that can be targeted are the stomach, arms (bingo wings), back fat, inner and outer thighs, hips (popularly know as saddlebags…..mmmm, lovely!) and the bottom of your bum.
The treatment itself is non invasive which basically means that there are no needles used and nothing actually goes inside your body which lets face it is excellent news. Having had the treatment myself I can confirm that there is a bit of discomfort for the first few minutes as the fat is sucked into the Hoover like Cryolipolosis machine but it soon settles down and the 45 minutes are over before you know it. (Most people bring their phone, laptop, iPad is a book with them to pass the time). Also there is no down time so afterwards you can get straight back to work or whatever you were doing (you could actually squeeze a treatment into your lunch hour, or of course come after work as Uv is open until 9pm Monday to Friday and also open Saturdays and Sundays)..
I don’t want to sound too blasé about the discomfort because my friend came in and said she found it really uncomfortable for the first few minutes but I guess we all have different pain thresholds hey.
Anyway, no pain, no gain is what I say and if that few minutes of discomfort give me a smoother shape and achieve my goals then happy days!
So how does it actually work I hear you say and is it just another fad which I will spend my money on and see no benefit from?
The answer is that the fat is frozen and up to 40% of the fat cells are killed which disperse naturally through the body over a 12 week period. When they have gone the area that they previously occupied is smaller……simples!
You could potentially see changes to your shape within 3 weeks and the finished result from that treatment wil be achieved at the end of the 12 weeks. You can then decide if you are happy with the result it if you would like another treatment to achieve a little more inch loss. It has to be said that you should not have any more than 3 treatments on any single area of your body. The reason being is that after 3 treatments you will have achieved the best results you are ever going to see from this specific treatment.
As I have already tried the fat freezing when we first got it at UV back in November last year I can now go ahead and get my second treatment and see further results so it’s all good from my perspective.
I know some of you out there are interested in fat freezing but for one reason or another are holding back. Don’t let the price put you off, at the moment UV are doing a buy one get one free offer which means you can have 2 areas treated for £200 (Google what London clinics are charging for this and you will see how cheap this is!). So if you think about it, you are spending less than £20 a week to achieve a better shape (if you break down the cost over a 12 week period).
I hope that my little write up has been helpful and if you would like a chat with me about it or to see the machine then just call UV and we can make a time to meet at the salon.
