Botulinum toxin type A As we age, we develop fine lines and wrinkles particularly around the eyes and mouth. The skin on the face loses its collagen and elastin which gives the skin it’s ‘firmness’ as well as a reduction in hyaluronic acid levels causing it to dehydrate. This treatment can be used to ‘freeze’ muscles for a period of 3-4 months stopping the formation of lines. This can help banish lines around the eyes and forehead areas. The product can also be used to ‘lift’ the eyebrows giving a fresher look. Botulinum can also be used in combination with dermal fillers.
Lines that are visible when the face is at rest needs to be treated with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are products that smooth out lines and folds. There are several types of dermal fillers based on hyaluronic acid which are graded according to the depth of the line. They will last approximately 6 months.
Lip Enhancement There are many reasons why lips can benefit from enhancement. A natural process of ageing results in the lips becoming thinner. This volume can be replaced giving a natural rejuvenated look. Some lips are asymmetrical for example the top lip may be thinner than the bottom and requires balancing. This process may also be ideal for those clients that experience the ‘smokers’ lines around the mouth and in this case just the border of the lip can be rejuvenated without affecting the volume. The lips can be very sensitive and clients are given a dental block prior to the procedure to ensure a comfortable treatment.
Chemical Peels There are different types and levels of peel available. The Most popular one we offer comes from a range of light peels sometimes referred to as “lunch time peels”. The product range I mostly offer is the skinceuticals range including a glycolic or Salycilic and Mandelic acid peel which is very light and has no “downtime” but offers good skin firming and retexturing results. The peels help increase the skins cell turnover and promote collagen production.
An antioxidant and Sunscreen must be used after the peel to maintain lasting results.
Vitamin C or hydration b5 facial for tired, pollution damaged or dehydrated skin. (For anyone that would just like to be spoilt)
Skin needling The concept of skin needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself. The micro-needles penetrate the top layers of the skin and create pin-point injuries in the deeper layers. This triggers the body’s natural would healing response. As a result, new collagen and elastin is formed to reduce wrinkle depth, increase skin elasticity and improve the apperance of scars and other skin flaws.
